The activities of this organization were later carried forward in 1903  by. ‘Thiruvithamkur Nair Samajam’ formed under the leadership of Krishna Pillai. The purpose of this organization was to co-ordinate the Nair Samajam established in different parts of Travancore and engage them in social reform. This conference of Nair Samajs was held in 1904. In 1905 this organization was transformed into ‘Keraliya Nair Samaja’. The issues focused on by the organization were reforming community customs and elimination of inter-caste groups. In 1926, According to the second regulation of the Nair woman, the children born of a Brahmin-Samantha Kshatriya relationship were also entitled to a share in their father’s self-acquired property. This led to the collapse of the joint family system and the rise of Makkah. A Nair woman got a right to her husband’s property. Polygamy and Polygamy were to be controlled.. Following the Nair Regulation in Kochi in 1920, Namboothiri was obliged to pay the expenses of the Nair’s wife and children.

In 1937 also a more progressive Nair Act came into effect in Kochi. In the conference held in 1910, the issues of legalizing the marriage system in the Nair community and reforming the system of in-laws were mainly discussed Diwan Bahadur A. Govinda Pilla to prepare a report on the necessary reforms for in-law families following the riots. The government appointed a ‘Marumakkathaya Samiti’ under the chairmanship of Govindappilla. Half of the self-acquired property of a Nair husband goes to his wife and half to the family.

People belonging to that generation say that in the late 1800s, the position of “Nair” was acquired by hearing cases through the court of Shadananan Nairmarthandam and if you check the court records of that time, you can know. It was after 14 years that Mannathu Padmanabhapilla came forward strongly against the oppression of the upper castes and formed the NSS. The bylaws of NSS include the Vilakkithala Nair community as well as various other Nair communities.

In Keralaotpati, which is believed to have been written in the 16th century AD, and in Sankaracharya’s caste determination, which is believed to be Virachitam, there is a mention of a sect called Valakithalavan among the avantara sects of the Malayalam Shudras.

Our little Kerala was divided into many small princely kingdoms and they were at war with each other and with other foreign powers. It was the job of Valakithalanair men to take care of the wounded soldiers and provide medical aid during the Kulachal War and the battles against the Dutch. There are many proofs of this in the history books.

In South Travancore, the men of this  community who provided medical assistance, in this way were called Vaidyars along with their names. Although many people left Vaidya Vritti after generations, the society still called them Vaidyas (Example – Krishnan Vaidyar who was the founder treasurer of the Samajam, Krishnan Vaidyar who was a native of a large landed family did not practice Vaidya Vritti, even though he was known by that traditional title),Moreover, there are many Vilakkithala Nair’s who have served even in the Nair army of Travancore. It should not be forgotten that even today there are many Vilakkithala Nair’s  among those who accompany the Aarat Ezhunnallath of Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple. The Nair Brigade, which served in Travancore, is today known as the Madras Regiment of the Indian Army, Moreover, if we look at the number of Malayalees in the Indian soldiers, most of them are from the Nair community including Vilakkithala Nair.
